The European Film Weeks are holding their 18th edition in Morocco from January 22 to February 6 2009

TETOUAN: January 22-31, 2009, (Avenida cinema).
RABAT: January 24 – February 2, 2009 (Mohammed V Theatre).
CASABLANCA: January 26 - February 4, 2009 (Le Lynx cinema).
MARRAKECH: January 28 - February 5, 2009 (Le Colisée cinema).
Once again, European's best films are just about to take hold of all Moroccan screens. As from next January 22 until February 6, the touring cinema meeting is coming back with 10 films drawing 2008 European cinema.

The Class by the French Laurent Cantet will open the event. The Class won the Palme d’or during the last Cannes Film Festival. The film, which became a real culture phenomenon in France, arise many debates on education. Exhibited since last October, it already attracted 1.5 million filmgoers in France.

The European Film Weeks, which have been organised every year in Morocco since 1991 by the Delegation of the European Commission, are one of the most tangible cultural symbols of the Euro-Mediterranean partnership in Morocco. They have been created by the Delegation of the European Commission with UE Member States embassies and cultural institutes, together with the Communication and Culture Ministries and in partnership with the Moroccan Cinema Center.
