The Algerian Cultural Centre in Paris launches a film-club and an educational workshop
As from December 2008, Kaïna Cinéma association, in partnership with the Algerian Cultural Centre, will offer a monthly film-club as well as weekly educational activities on cinema art and audiovisual techniques.
The film-club (a screening followed by a debate with the filmmaker) will take place one Saturday per month from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Free entrance. First screening: December 13, 2008. Then in 2009: January 10, February 14, March 7, April 4, May 9, June 6.
The weekly educational activities will be open to everyone, on Saturdays from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Participants will be divided in small groups according to their age, the interests, their background and the training course duration, from 10 to 100 hours (theoretical training on cinema history and image interpretation, script, direction, preproduction and shooting, editing and postproduction, diffusion). Trainers are professionals coming from different cinema artistic and technical fields.
Founded in Paris in 2003 by a group of cinema professionals, Kaïna Cinéma launches actions aiming at structuring a network of cultural exchanges and professional training in the audiovisual and cinema field between Algeria and the Mediterranean countries, France in particular. This association strengthens the development of film-clubs in several Algerian cities (Algiers, Bejaia, Constantine, Oran…) while organising training workshops in the cinema field (Bejaia Documentary Film Meetings, directing, animation techniques, film analysis and programming…).
